At the heart of a thousand-year-old fortress

Switzerland’s most visited historic monument, the Château de Chillon welcomes over 400,000 visitors every year from all over the world. An impressive figure, yet hardly enough to shake this national icon and its thousand years of history.

PHOTO & VIDEO CONTENT STRATEGY (2020 – TODAY)

A long-term collaboration in the service of a national icon

Since 2020, KENOA has been supporting the Château de Chillon Foundation through an evolving and creative photo and video content strategy. A partnership initiated at the height of the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has since grown into a long term strategic collaboration.

2026 – MULTI-AUDIENCE PHOTO & VIDEO PRODUCTION

One unique castle for multiple audiences

The Château de Chillon is not only a fortress — it is a global brand that attracts crowds. But you do not speak to a tourist from Seoul in the same way as to a seminar organiser from the canton of Vaud. Our mission was to translate the soul of the castle into multiple visual narratives, creating immediate emotional resonance with very specific target audiences.

1. Asian market (B2C): the “postcard” aesthetic

To capture this audience, travelling in search of the “Swiss dream”, we produced contemplative and highly aesthetic content.

Visual approach: a calm rhythm and cinematic colour grading, enhancing alpine panoramas and the reflections of Lake Geneva.

Message: emphasis is placed on the poetry of the place, the authenticity of the stone, and the romantic experience — essential codes to trigger travel decisions in these long-haul markets.

2. Groups & business tourism (B2B): logistical excellence

Aimed at tour operators, companies and associations, the objective here is to reassure and convince.

Highlighting: the videos demonstrate the site’s ability to host large-scale events. We showcase the majesty of the state rooms for banquets, as well as the flexibility of seminar spaces.

Experience: focus on exclusive services, from Clos de Chillon wine tastings to catering at Café Byron.

Our contribution:

  • Strategy: definition of personas (Asia vs B2B) and narrative angles
  • Production: segmented shoots aligned with the new visual identity
  • Post-production: differentiated editing and graphic treatments according to targeted distribution channels
2024 – Soft mobility & young adults campaign

Reaching the castle by public transport!

In 2024, we produced a photo and video shoot aimed at promoting soft mobility and public transport accessibility among young adults (Gen Z and millennials).
A production combining aesthetics and environmental responsibility — themes close to the heart of the Foundation’s management.

Our contribution:

  • Casting and persona definition to target young adults
  • Scriptwriting, scouting and full production of episodes and photos
  • Delivery of formats adapted to different uses in order to maximise engagement
2020 – JERUSALEMA DANCE CHALLENGE

Bringing smiles despite the pandemic

At the height of the pandemic, while the cultural sector was facing unprecedented challenges, KENOA stepped in to bring a touch of lightness and humanity.

The challenge: producing a video involving around ten extras while strictly respecting the sanitary measures in force at the time (masks, physical distancing).

The result: KENOA rose to the challenge by producing the “Chillon” version of the global Jerusalema Dance Challenge phenomenon. This production helped maintain a connection with the public and showcased a united and resilient team within the fortress, ready to welcome visitors once again.

Our contribution:

  • Crisis-context production: full organisation of a shoot involving around ten extras during the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Logistics & safety: rigorous coordination to ensure strict compliance with protection measures and health requirements in force at the time
  • Viral content creation: adaptation of the global Jerusalema Dance Challenge phenomenon to the Château’s identity, maintaining a positive emotional connection with the public despite the closure of cultural venues
